I am a postdoctoral researcher focusing on the mechanism(s) through which the tumour microenviroment may influence breast cancer (BCa) cell invasion. During my Ph.D. in the lab of Prof Jim Norman at CRUK Scotland Institute (Glasgow, UK), my work focused on how metabolic adaptations of BCa-derived lung micrometastases influence the biogenesis of small extracellular vesicles to generate invasive microenvironments. Prior to that, I obtained my B.Sc and M.Sc. in Molecular Biology-Biomedicine at the University of Crete/IMBB-FORTH (Crete, Greece), where I studied how proteolytic pathways regulate the intracellular levels of a major HDL component. Outside the lab, I really enjoy catching up with friends and exploring new places/activities (anything that includes water).
